Etymology : A compound noun whose first element is the Greek noun korema, meaning ‘broom’ or ‘brush’, and whose second element is the Greek feminine noun knemis, meaning ‘shin guard’, which describesthe hirsute character of the posterior legs. The gender is feminine.
