Type Locality : Pambahinna, Belihuloya, Sabaragamuwa District, Sri Lanka
Etymology : The species is named after its native country. As this species has unique characteristics when compared to others of the genus and differs greatly from the known congeners from both India and Sri Lanka.
A new species of arboreal Theraphosidae spider from the genus Poecilotheria is described. This represents the second new Poecilotheria species described from the intermediate zone in Sri Lanka. Images are presented to distinguish the new species from Sri Lankan congeners.
