Etymology : The species epithet is a patronym in honour of Brazilian arachnologist José Paulo Leite Guadanucci (Universidade Estadual Paulista) in recognition of his extensive contributions to theraphosid taxonomy and his friendship to the authors.
A new species of the schismatotheline genus Guyruita Guadanucci, Lucas, Indicatti & Yamamoto, 2007, Guyruita guadanuccii sp. nov., is described based on a female specimen from French Guiana.
